What is a green screen shoot?
The principle of the green screen is to film a person or an object on a green screen (which can also be blue) in order to process it using compositing software. The green screen is selected and becomes transparent. It is thus possible to replace the green screen with a still image or a moving video. Special effects and color work can be added to reinforce the impression that everything was shot in one place.
How is the filming organised, how much does it cost?
You have the choice between filming in the studio and filming on your premises. In the studio, in Paris, we are on a service at 1500 €. At home, it costs 900€.
The studio is bigger, there is no set-up and un-set-up time (2x1h) and we are certain of the shooting conditions. You can turn full length because the ground is also green. Various accessories are present in the studio. The lighting is optimal. This is the preferred solution when possible.
With a mobile studio, at your premises it also works well. It’s a little cheaper, but it’s more complicated to implement. You need a large soundproof room, usually meeting rooms are big enough. You cannot turn full foot, the traditional shot is the American shot, mid thigh or the waist shot.
On set, in the studio or at your place, we can come with a teleprompter.
Do I need to plan the background/layering before shooting?
This is preferable, it allows to match the lighting of the scene with that of the chosen background. However this is not mandatory.
What are the dress restrictions?
Do not wear green, objects that reflect light such as glasses can be a problem. For women it is preferable that they tie their hair to avoid problems with green reflections in the hair.
